The most hardcore of laptop-loving gamers will want to turn their eyes to the Lenovo-made Legion Y920 gaming notebook. At least to see what the baseline is, that is to say. This machine was revealed today by Lenovo with 7th gen Intel Core i7-7820HK and i7-7700HQ processor options. Base graphics card is the NVIDIA GTX 1070 (8GB) GDDR5 with PCI express, but Lenovo offers multiple GPU options.
Inside is 16GB of memory and storage at 512GB SSD / 1TB HDD. Users will be running Windows 10 right out the box on a 17.3-inch FHD display. This display runs with IPS LCD technology and is equipped with NVIDIA G-Sync action – so its super swift. Above the display is a standard 720p webcam.
This notebook rolls with Dolby Home Theatre Audio brand audio quality assuredness. That’s with 2x 2W JBL speakers and a 3W Bass Subwoofer. With all this gear included – as well as the ports I’m about to list – the machine weighs in at 10.14lbs (4.6kg), so don’t expect to be tossing this laptop lightly at your best buddy’s face.
Inside for batteries we’ve got 6 cells and 90Wh of Li-Polymer – not that anyone will be playing without being plugged in to the wall, of course. Around the edges are the following ports: 1x 6-in-1 card reader, 1x Display Port, 1x RJ45 ethernet port, 1x full-sized HDMI port, 1x Thunderbolt port, and 4x USB 3.0 ports. Lenovo brings the Killer Wireless-AC 1535 and Killer LAN brands to this notebook, as well as Bluetooth 4.0.
This monster has a fully rainbow-capable colored keyboard. As Lenovo suggests, users will be rolling with mechanical keys that have “Lighting Effects” full RGB – that we’ll be looking into further, of course. With the processing power included in this notebook, this notebook is VR Ready – but check with your VR setup currently to make sure it lines up.
This notebook is available in ABS Plastic and starts at a cool $2,700 USD. This gaming laptop device will begin to be available online starting in June of this year, 2017.
