OurMine hacks Sony Music’s Twitter account to dispel rumors of Britney Spear’s death

OurMine is known for turning its attention to Twitter accounts from time to time. Most of the time, the group’s unwanted attention warrant panicking time for the people at the receiving ends of the attack. However, the group appears to have a thing for pop as the group hacked a compromised Sony Music official account that had been spreading false rumors of Britney Spear’s death.

Fans were surprised and saddened when Sony Music Global announced the sudden demise of pop sensation Britney Spears.

However, many of them were highly incredulous of the claims as well. Well, while most of the latter took to Twitter and other social media platforms to express their incredulity, OurMine decided to take things further. The group leveraged whatever dark skills it uses to get into Twitter accounts as easily as if they were its own, and got into Sony Music Global’s Twitter.

After noticing something was amiss, OurMine decided to investigate the matter and broke into Soy Music Global’s Twitter. The group then went on to state that the tweets were false and even provided reasons for the same.

Meanwhile, this is probably the first time that OurMine has put its skills to some good use. However, the group has expressed its intentions of doing this in the future as well.

Meanwhile, Sony would probably do well to seek OurMine or some other firm’s expertise to strengthen its security. The company has faced such attacks earlier as well, when a North Korean group leaked personal information belonging to Sony executives after the group promoted comedy about an assassination attempt on North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
