Chrome OS may look more like Android soon

A new experimental build may be coming to all

Chrome OS has come on leaps and bounds over the last couple of years, so much so that I a former Chrome OS non believer have actually ditched Windows and moved to a Samsung Chromebook Plus.

Now it seems that Chrome OS has just received an early ‘Canary’ build which is the name of their experimental channel for trying out new features. The new build features a Android style launcher which looks pretty good, however I am not entirely sure if I really want Chrome OS to look more like Android.

The idea of this new launcher is to make the OS even more touch friendly which was not something Google had initially intended for Chrome OS. Many of these experimental features never get pushed to production so don’t be surprised if you never see this again.

Chrome OS may look more like Android soon was originally published in Ireland’s Technology Blog on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story.
