But watch out for the small print
Facebook’s ‘Find Wi-Fi’ tool which was released in other regions and on iOS previously has now officially been rolled out globally. It hit Irish shores late yesterday, well at least for me.
The feature will basically alert you to open Wifi zones that are close to your location. But watch out as the small print notes that if you enable the feature that your phone will start tracking your location history to build a map of all the stores and places you have been.
It is however a very handy feature to have if you are in another country and don’t want to use your data.
Facebook roles out Find Wi-Fi feature globally was originally published in Ireland’s Technology Blog on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story.
